Introduction post (Thing 1-A)

I am Nicole Mays and I teach a self-contained special education class at Kennedy Elementary School in Winder, GA. In the fall I will begin my 8th year of teaching and I adore my job! I wanted to take this course because I see Caroline O'Bannon all over the web - she's my facebook friend, my plurk buddy, etc. and I wanted to formally learn how to use Web2.0 tools in education. I dabble here and there but don't feel like I "do it right", if that makes sense. By taking this course I hope to bring together all of the bits and pieces and build a cohesive presence for myself, to pull together all the haphazard pieces of my online "self" as it relates to education - and to be a more active part of the online PLN community. I have lots of ideas of how to use Web2.0 tools in special education particularly, I just feel like I need a framework and some accountability to get it all out of my head and online :-)
